Sibel Sozuer

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Kenan-Flagler Business School in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

My research focuses on leveraging text mining, machine learning, optimization, and econometric methodologies for business applications, specifically for applications related to innovation, food, and well-being. I am interested in research questions related to creativity-based new product development, crowdsourcing in innovation, sustainability, and consumer health. I have received Shankar-Spiegel Dissertation Proposal Award and ISMS Early Stage Research Grant for my dissertation work.

I received my PhD in Marketing from Columbia Business School. I earned my MS and BS in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University. Prior to my doctoral studies, I have worked as a product marketing manager for 5 years at a home appliances company and generated value for consumers through creating, communicating, and delivering products that they need. My experience as a marketing professional has sparked my interest in developing a deeper understanding of the marketing field and pursuing research to enhance innovation and consumer well-being.
